Medicaid provides free transportation for Texas Health Steps patients and most others who use Medicaid medical and dental services, provided they have no other mean of transportation to make it to receive medically necessary care services. Children with Medicaid and their parent or caregiver can get free rides or money to help get to and from the doctor, dentist, hospital, or drug store. Some adults with Medicaid can get free rides, too.

Healthy Texas Babies

Healthy Texas Babies (HTB) is Texas’s concerted Infant mortality reduction initiative. HTB brings together stakeholders from a range of backgrounds, including clinicians, healthcare administrators, insurance companies, community health experts, health departments and researchers to examine the modifiable risk factors for infant mortality and poor outcomes for mothers and their families in Texas.
