The goal of this module is to equip Texas Health Steps providers and other health care providers to routinely communicate clear and consistent messages about the importance of breastfeeding and ensure that families have the support needed to achieve their breastfeeding goals.

Specific Learning Objectives
- Evaluate the short- and long-term maternal and child health outcomes associated with infant feeding.
- Integrate clear and consistent breastfeeding information and messages into routine clinical encounters.
- Recommend strategies and resources that assist families in meeting their breastfeeding goals.
